【摘要】:1.1Thisdocumentcoversaprocedurefordeterminingpreferencebetweentwoproductsusingatwo-alternativeforced-choice,whichmayormaynotincludetheoptionofchoosingnopreference.1.2Apairedpreferencetestdetermineswhetherthereisastatisticallysignificantpreferencebetweentwoproductsforagivenpopulationofrespondents.Thetargetpopulationmustbecarefullyconsidered.1.3Thismethodestablishespreferenceinasingleevaluationcontext.Replicatedtestswillnotbecoveredwithinthescopeofthisdocument.1.4Pairedpreferencetestingcanaddressoverallpreferenceorpreferenceforaspecifiedsensoryattribute.1.5Themethoddoesnotdirectlydeterminethemagnitudeofpreference.1.6Thismethoddoesnotaddresswhetherornottwosamplesareperceivedasdifferent.SeeTestMethodE2164.1.7Apairedpreferencetestisasimpletaskforrespondents,andcanbeusedwithpopulationsthathaveminimalreadingorcomprehensionskills,orboth.1.8Preferenceisnotanintrinsicattributeoftheproduct,suchashueis,butisasubjectivemeasurerelatingtorespondents''affectiveorhedonicresponse.Itdiffersfrompairedcomparisontestingwhichmeasuresobjectivecharacteristicsoftheproduct.Preferenceresultsarealwaysdependentonthepopulationsampled.1.9Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
