【摘要】:TestMethod8212;Thedataobtainedfromtheuseofthistestmethodprovideacomparativeindexofthefuel-savingcapabilitiesofautomotiveengineoilsunderrepeatablelaboratoryconditions.Abaselinecalibrationoil(hereafterreferredtoasBCoil)hasbeenestablishedforthistesttoprovideastandardagainstwhichallotheroilscanbecompared.TheBCoilisanSAE5W-30gradefullyformulatedlubricant.ThereisadirectcorrelationofTestMethodD6837(SequenceVIB)FuelEconomyImprovement(FEI)bypercentwiththefueleconomyresultsobtainedfromvehiclesrepresentativeofcurrentproductionrunningunderthecurrentEPAtestingcycles.Thetestprocedurewasnotdesignedtogiveapreciseestimateofthedifferencebetweentwotestoilswithoutadequatereplication.Rather,itwasdevelopedtocompareatestoiltoBCoil.CompaniontestmethodsusedtoevaluateengineoilperformanceforspecificationrequirementsarediscussedinthelatestrevisionofSpecificationD4485.Use8212;TheSequenceVIBtestmethodisusefulforengineoilfueleconomyspecificationacceptance.Itisusedinspecificationsandclassificationsofenginelubricatingoils,suchasthefollowing:SpecificationD4485.APIPublication1509.SAEClassificationJ304.SAEClassificationJ1423.^SCOPE:1.1Thistestmethodcoversanenginetestprocedureforthemeasurementoftheeffectsofautomotiveengineoilsonthefueleconomyofpassengercarsandlight-dutytruckswithgrossvehicleweightof3856kgorless.Thetestsareconductedonadynamometerteststandusingaspecifiedspark-ignitionenginewithadisplacementof4.6-L.Itappliestomultiviscositygradeoilsusedintheseapplications.1.2ThistestmethodalsoprovidesfortherunningofanabbreviatedlengthtestthatisreferredtoastheVIBSJ.TheprocedureforVIBSJisidenticaltotheSequenceVIBwiththeexceptionoftheitemsspecificallylistedinAnnexA13.TheproceduremodificationslistedinAnnexA13refertothecorrespondingsectionoftheSequenceVIBtestmethod.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3.1Exceptions8212;WherethereisnodirectSIequivalentsuchasscrewthreads,NationalPipeThreads/diameters,tubingsize,orsinglesourcesupplyequipmentspecifications.BrakeSpecificFuelConsumptionismeasuredinkilogramsperkilowatthour.InFigs.A2.4,A2.5,andA2.8,inch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.1.1Thistestmethodcoversanenginetestprocedureforthemeasurementoftheeffectsofautomotiveengineoilsonthefueleconomyofpassengercarsandlight-dutytruckswithgrossvehicleweightof3856kgorless.Thetestsareconductedonadynamometerteststandusingaspecifiedspark-ignitionenginewithadisplacementof4.6-L.Itappliestomultiviscositygradeoilsusedintheseapplications.1.2ThistestmethodalsoprovidesfortherunningofanabbreviatedlengthtestthatisreferredtoastheVIBSJ.TheprocedureforVIBSJisidenticaltotheSequenceVIBwiththeexceptionoftheitemsspecifica......
